I am in my childhood bedroom. Sia is in the room with me. On one of the walls of the room is a wall to wall ceiling to floor bookcase full of books. Sia is sitting on top of the chest of drawers and I am facing her sitting on my bed. She is not visible, she is in the dark. I am not afraid of her. I tell her it's because I can see that it is her, Sia. She emerges from the darkness and into the light. She asks me for the meaning behind one of the lyrics of her song, Chandelier. It's about breaking free from the limitations of our mother and grandmother. Later I go downstairs to make sure the door to the backyard is closed and locked. Next dream scene, I am with my mother, grandmother, and brother. I think we are at a conference? We drive to. Mexican restaurant. The restaurant is a standalone restaurant in the parking lot of a strip mall. It's one of the few restaurants that is open. It's in Buffalo, New York. There are other Mexican restaurants that seem more upscale, but this one seems more like fast food. We enter the restaurant and the conference party is upstairs so we go upstairs. Most of the people are White people and older. It's about 9:30pm when we arrive and know this because later in the dream about 45 minutes pass and I see on a clock that it is 10:18pm and I am thinking that my mom wants to leave soon. I ask a White woman about the statues that are outside. I think it is a cemetery. There are so many statues, they are low to the ground and look green like jade. The woman I ask and another woman go outside from the upper floor to check to confirm if the figurines are a part of a cemetery. They return to share that it is not a cemetery but in fact an art exhibit. I ask one of the women to share more about the city about places of interest, buildings of interest. I then state that my mother drove me to New York or a city that begins with the word New.
